Weekend was one which I had been looking forward to. Had been counting down ever since 1 month ago, wondering when I can get to take a short break. And now………. I guess it’s over…~ I’m back in singapura.. the sunny island.. set in the sea
Was away in Genting with naz for a short holiday.heh.
Day 01 ::: 21st April 2006 :::
Went for CPT in the day and it sucked like crazy. Gotta retake I guess…shit x3.
What’s a holiday without kokups?? Had did my part in sms-ing naz to bring all the necessary stuff like passport, camera, coach and hotel tix… the perfect plan was to meet him at TPY station then we take to bugis, have dinner, then take a cab to golden mile.
But. He forgot to bring his ringgit out!! Urghz. Seems like my fault for not reminding him… but in actual fact, it’s not lor. Don’t be deluded. He’s got dementia. Btw, dementia is a form of insanity, learnt from an adam’s family movie we watched in the hotel. Never knew it was insanity.. thought it’s just forgetfulness.
Next up was to get off in town to get a cab back to his home to get the okane. We were in luck when we got a cab almost immediately and when we asked the cabby if he could wait for us while naz go up to get the okane, he was hesitant and said if its too long he won’t. We assured him it’s only 5 min..then he said “ok” amidst all the grumbling under his breath.
While I was in the cab waiting, I thought I had to break the silence by making some small talk (as I always feel compelled to)…and the cabby told me that he needed to use the toilet, desperately. That’s why he doesn’t really want to wait. Wahahhah. Poor uncle.
Anyway, we were off to golden mile and the pat thai there really quite no standard, considering it’s a thai hangout. At 10pm, we set off to tuas causeway.
Was happy-ing enjoy-ing my mp3 when the driver played some old andy lau and tan yonglin show set in the 1980s..the stereo was blasting (as always) .. deafening and screechy. Feeling so sure I’m not about to tahan this thing for the whole trip, I bent over to ask him soften it. Phew.
I slept like a pig as always, especially drowsy when traveling on the bus. But naz was awake like an owl.. and since not much choice coz his mp3 spoilt and he doesn’t like the songs on my mp3, he watched the lousy Cantonese show. Haha. He couldn’t sleep at all in the bus though he was tired… so sadz. Let me impart some of my sleep-anywhere skills to him……hehe.
It was 5.30am when we finally reached 1st world. Took a queue number for check in and god, there was really a lot of people.. our queue number was 152. ?!! luckily the Q moved fast and after catching breakfast at “only Mee” (their penang ramen quite nice..yummy), we checked in at 8am. Yess! We were still quite dubious about early check in coz usual case would be to wait till 12pm or 3pm for their official check in. .. yokatta ne!! …….1st thing: sleep!!!
Day 02 ::: 22nd April 2006 :::
Started off the day with Outdoor Theme park.. rides to jolt us awake. Heh. Tried almost every ride and the best has got to be “The Flying Coaster” and the “Space Shot”.
The most scary -->> (Space shot ( aka. tower drop) is still the most scary to me.. maybe it’s the motion of dropping from a great height, always the most terrifying. Anyway, I dunno why but I was so scared and screamed till I cried when taking the space shot. Not my first time somemore. Like my 5th or 6th time liao. Maybe I got the scared-mood. Naz got a shock though.. he thought I was about to hyperventilate. Wahahha.
The most relaxing-->> has got to be the ferris wheel! Breezy and nice and take the chance to rest our feet.
The most smelly try-->> Archery.. we gotta wear those small finger guards and it was bloody smelly… super..taihen. those sweaty leather smell which like has been left to ferment for 10 years. After that, we went toilet to scrub with hadnwash liquid and I had to wash it twice.. the smell went off for a while and when we go back hotel, we realized the smell was still there ..errrrrrr . wash wash wash.
The luckiest -->> Naz wanted to go casino awhile while waiting for our buffet dinner to start and we played digital roulette. He lost like 150 ringgit and when he was down to his last 50 ringgit, he promised that once he can break even, he’ll zao. He kept asking me for hunches and think I’ve got the du3 hou4 blood in me, I actually helped him to break even…. 200…! Run.!
The most satisfying -->> Dinner was good. We got this free meal voucher which can be used at certain restaurants for buffet dinners. Went for this international buffet thingy which was really not bad.
The most no hoo-ha-->> Next up was shopping time!! Was hoping that got sale or what just like the last time I went there (err..about 3-4 years ago I think).. but there wasn’t any. Sighz. So end up with a t shirt from FOS. The end.
The most “I thought no hoo-ha, there came a hoo-ha”-->> I met my ex-colleagues. Not one. But a whole group all from my department. They were in KL for a seminar and just dropped by Genting for 3hrs.. ya..ask me. What are the chances of meeting them?! Well.. I did.
The Coldest -->> Signed up for SnowWorld at 10.30pm and by that time naz was in a half concussed state already.. but at least he knew he was here for a holiday and managed to drag himself out of bed. Haha. No pity for him.
SnowWorld was nothing much except we went there to freeze our butts off in this man-made snowland. Quite small the place and we secretly took out our cam to take pics which wasn’t allowed. They wanted us to engage their photography services so they can make money… well, we still took la coz it’s one 6R pic and one 5R pic for 28 ringgit. Just pay la..since on holiday. This is the exact mindset they’re expecting… and I guess tourism is really a huge and growing industry.
Haha..naz was pretty irritated coz I keep missing the button for taking of pics when I had my gloves on and it made our photo taking very obvious with me fiddling with the camera for an extended amount of time. We called it quits when it turned out one of the photos he took for me had his glove covering the pic.
Day 03 ::: 23rd April 2006 :::
Going home day.
Supposed to wake up for the free buffet breakfast at Awana but we were too lazy to wake up early and take the slow cable ride down and up.
So. We had a quick breakfast and tried out this hot pot place which was ok only.
Not much time to do anything actually and managed to buy myself some socks coz I forgot to bring extra. Took a walk outside the hotel and did some last min photo-taking with flowers and inane stuff.
Before we know it, it was near 3pm to catch our bus back. The bus smelt like shit. The air was stale and it was dusty and there was a foul smell.. emitting from the cushion I think. Along with it were a few houseflies flying around. Sianz. Taihen sian. Naz whipped out his bottle of perfume and started spraying around our seats. But the perfume couldn’t last very long.
Reached home at 11pm due to a massive jam (what’s new?). So taihen tired and felt like MC-ing.. but didn’t. Good discipline natsuri san... I’m so proud of you.
