GoNg HeI FaTT chOy!!

It’s Chinese new year’s eve today.. but I’m not too happy..in a lousy mood. Think I’ll be depending on the chilli crabs later to make me feel better.yum! glutton is my middle name.

Spent some time hanging out with my parents last night.
Went to our favourite market as usual coz I’ve got relatives selling you tiao and coffee there. Quite happenings but not as happening as last year.

Before I can get to finish my you tiao, my mum chased me off to buy this “Ah tok” minced pork noodles. We used to eat it so often when I was still schooling and went to the market every Sunday with my mum. It was a weekly ritual. Now leh.. I easily spend like $25 on a suki buffet or normal would be $10 on a meal. Come to think of it, it’s quite ex compared to the $1.80 ah tok’s noodles. Hah…the main point is, at 12midnight, the queue was super long. Ah tok took my order and she had her kids who were helping her out at the small stall. My mum wanted to offer the noodles to me but I dun wan. Told her if she had seen how ah tok prepared the noodles u wont feel like eating liaoz.

Ichi- She tore a small bunch of noodles using her hand (ok..thats considered pretty normal), threw it in hot water, then she rinsed the noodles in cold water. The cold water was contained in a bucket which looks like the red huge buckets we use at home for mopping the floor, except it looked way older and dirtier.

Ni- Oops, a few strands of noodles spilled out of the pail. So she used her fingers to flick it back into the cold water. Sianz.

San- I spotted a drop of perspiration hanging precariously at the ends of ah tok’s eyebrows. Then it disappeared. I dun wan to know where it went.

Yon- The cooked noodles were then passed to her son and he found out there were no more minced meat liao. At the same time, an auntie said “how much ah?” he said, “ $9”. He took the money, dropped it into the drawer and pushed all the other notes aside. Using the same hand, took out the minced meat and put it into the bowl. Ok. Quick quick. I want my noodles.

Go- on the table just outside their stall, ah tok’s 2 young daughters were having some fun playing with the dried seaweed. Their task, I believe, was to cut huge piece of seaweed into small square pieces. Some seaweed, or rather, most of the seaweed dropped onto the table during the process and they picked it up and put it back in.

Roku- my mum found the noodles super tasty, which I feel really happy for her lor. While I was telling her, she kept asking me to tell her after she finished her noodles. Moral of the story: Dirty food taste the best!

Mum screaming at me to help her prepare for the dinner later. Every CNY is so typical. She starts to get all hyped up and picky over the cleanliness of the house. Keep asking me to mop the floor la, iron the clothes la, fold the clothes la, pack the shoes la. Arrange the sweets la – of which I find the most meaningful during CNY.

I live to eat

Went to this HK style café called “TongShui Café” yesterday @54 Zion Rd…jus beside Great World city . courtesy of juli’s recommendation… decided to try it since I like HK food. Getting there was terrible as we drove there and both me and naz had no idea where it was and coz every road was 1 way which means lots of huge detours when we make a wrong turn.. urghz. Plus! I haven’t eaten for the whole day and my stomach dam itai.. guess it was gastric.. luckily, the food there made the trip there all worth it. There were so many items on the menu and all looked so good…prices were reasonable as well. Coz it was pretty cheap, we thought the portion would be small too so we ordered a few dishes to share.. chigau ne. the food came in pretty large servings and we were too stuffed to talk after that. I didn’t even finish the drink lo. Such a waste! But when the food came, I thought I was hungry but after eating like half of my rice, I was full liao. And the gastric became worse. Sianz. So for zhe’s birthday, will be bringing her there. Think she’ll love it! and to bu3 hui2 what I didn’t get to enjoy yesterday! Heh..

All must try… it’s really quite good. A lot of effort put into the design and concept of the café also.. only realized at the shop that Tong Shui should be pronounced in cantonese means Tang2 Shui3 aka sweet desserts.. HK style desserts. 4 words to describe. Yum-my yum-my..!

New year coming.. getting fat..whole day dreaming about bak kwa and reunion dinner’s chilli crab…

Food…Tabemono…makan…that’s what life is about.. ~

seeking employment..

Harlos …anyone out there has got a job for me??

I hate my job and my boss. Colleagues are actually a great push/pull factor in my job search..but the sad case is that I wouldn’t know how they are like until I’m IN the job itself. Urghz. Too late lor. Well, did I say in my previous posts that they were nice.? Hmm..they’re still nice… but I’m so overloaded with work and had no time to go toilet and drink water. I’m always seated at the edge of my seat and am all jittery at work. Lots of follow-ups which I really hope to do but no time to do. Boss asking me to do stupid stuff when it could be done on her end and cumbersome work processes really get on my nerves. Okie..naz n Sharon, u both can ignore my ramblings.think I’ve complained to you all enough.haha. for the sake of buddy tan who proudly admits that she faithfully reads my blog to keep herself updated about me. Sianz.. that’s so bloody sad.. ok la..but better than nothing lor I have to console myself.

Yup.. I did something which I have never done before on Friday. While my boss was interrogating (she loves using the interrogating tone and make you feel stupid..the as-if-you-dunno kinda tone) me about why I didn’t do the stuff she asked me to do, I told her I got no time. Which is true. She further asked me what I do at work the whole day, in the tone which is really disgusting as if I’ve been shaking leg the whole day which is so totally the exact opposite. I come earlier to work and skip my lunch and stay back do OT, forego my toilet breaks and pantry breaks and I still have a whole list of stuff which I wrote up for myself, undone. Stop questioning me as if I didn’t hear your instructions or just ignore what have told me. IRRITATING!

At this moment….i feel like screaming…zul!!! Where are u.. .??!

Okie..back to something which I haven’t done before. While I was telling her that, I broke down INFRONT of her. Kaoz. I CRIED infront of my boss…what can be more malu and worse than this. Guess this was bottled up too long and I jus couldn’t control myself. Sighz.. sighz..the thought about going back to work sucks. Sucks sucks.

I need a new job.

raining mao1 and gou3~

the common topic which everyone was talking about today in office, in toilet, in the lift and in the train… r.a.i.n. as in xia4 yu3 .not the slitty eyed Korean singer. Okie..abit leng3. ANYWAYZ, ya! The rain! Saturday went east coast for zhen’s bday “party”. It was such a wrong venue and time man. The trip there was already so agonizing having to  walk in the drizzle and then carry drinks and chips as part of our potluck contribution. And east coast isn’t exactly near. Reached there and time flew past pretty fast and before we all know it, we’ve spent like 3-4 hrs sitting at the hawker centre hut @ east coast lagoon food village, lazing around and chatting and eating… nothing but chips and more chips. It definitely was a successful potato chips potluck party lor. You name the chips, we have it. Haha. Was good to see becca though. Watashi no long-distance fren ne.

the rain stretched into Sunday..the whole of Sunday in fact. Scary and cold. Wanted to cancel my suki appointment with naz liao but still went in the end la. Guess the buffet attraction was overpowering.. f.o.o.d. had what seemed the wettest and longest walk from somerset MRT to cineleisure.. then stuffed our faces in suki and then tried to walk around orchard abit, but it seemed impossible. So I went home shortly while naz went for some meeting.

The only thing good was that I can feel really cool (without aircon) for once. But I feel cool but very sticky coz of the humidity I guess. So it’s not really that good also. Sighz.

Work was hectic today. no time to go toilet or drink water as usual. And OT 1 hour. Shucks. I vow not to OT as much as possible. But it seemed impossible. And I really do my work super fast liao and I can’t understand why I still OT.. just like all my colleagues also wakaranai why they keep doing OT also.

PH tomorrow! Yay!!!! Enjoy boys and gals………..
