24th Feb 2006- Friday. Met to celebrate Sharon san’s birthday.. the 1st half of the year is always full of birthday celebrations, leaving 2nd half to be quieter…for me la.
actually her birthday is on 1st march but celebrated very much earlier coz we can’t meet jus before her birthday as everyone not free. They all not free.. not me la. Watashi wa itsumo hima na desu. So I got the title of being pantang coz I think celebrating birthdays late is not good. Well…!! It’s all for your own good Sharon san. Instead of being thankful….. hrmph.
We went Tonkichi for dinner…oh yes…another good eating place to recommend!!!! Ooosh!! Hahah.. food makes me high.
They serve fried pork cutlets,ebi fries, fried oysters deep-fried with bread crumbs in the usual jap way. The set meal for 3 comes with appetizer-bamboo shoots, miso soup, rice, pickles, fruits and of coz the main course – 3 oysters, 3 pcs of pork, 3 pcs of ebi and a slab of pork cutlet. Cabbage is free flow which is like the salad in jap context. We had lots of fun grinding the sesame seeds given to us as a condiment for the bbq sauce which was to go with the meat. Omoshiroii ka? Heh. Had free flow of green tea as well. Definitely a place which I’ll go back again.. yum my yum my
Me and Sharon san witnessed a really funny and rare accident on the escalator in the underpass leading up to the basement food place at CK Tangs. May be hard to imagine.. but can be done..heh.
I was standing on the step above Sharon and we were on the left side of the escalator. On our right was this pretty tall and well built angmoh guy wearing a backpack. Unfortunately, he had this strap which he hung outside his bag which caused the following accident.
Okie..On the side walls of the escalator were glass frames framing some advertisements. And the next minute, the strap caught onto one of the corners of the frames and this huge guy started to be pulled back by the strap while the escalator was still moving forward up. He stumbled a few steps down while me and Sharon reached out trying to unhooked the strap from the frame. Really scary lor!! And we did it! yay! The angmoh guy looked relieved and took a few steps up and I asked him if he was alright (you know, like he’s a tourist and it was really a freak accident..must have scared him abit..)…. He replied “oh yes, I think I better remove the st…rap…….” And there he was, before he could finish his sentence, his bag got caught again! Kaoz…wahahha..sorry… I think it was really funny.. this time me and Sharon were too far away to help coz he took quite a couple of steps back and the people behind must have thought shrek was rolling down the escalator.
We couldn’t hold back our laughter as we walked towards lido and only burst out laughing when the guy wasn’t behind us. It was too bizarre for words and the incident happened like twice. Once bitten, twice not shy was what we concluded. Ok la…must pity him…he must have gotten a big shock while we had our share of entertainment for the day. Whahahaha
Think quite lucky for him that that particular escalator in the underpass moves super dupa slowly one so at least his life wasn’t really in danger. I thought he should have imitated Jackie Chan’s movie where when the bad guy grabbed his jacket, he would take off his jacket to get out of the trap and then sneak up at the bad guy from behind and punch him.
Naz’s view was that it was my fault for the 2nd time his bag got stuck. coz I was talking to that ang moh asking how he was which caused his back/bag to be turned towards the frames and so the strap got caught again.
Just realised this would make a fantastic death plot for final destination 4…so unexpected but could be super fatal.
