yippppeee.... i'm on OIL today....OIL=Off In Lieu. talking about this word, It's real funny how my colleauges use it. when we see a colleague packing up and leaving office during mid day, we ask "eh..where you going? home ah?" Colleague A would say " I got 油! (oil in mandarin..as in literal meaning of oil aka cooking oil) hehe... or sometimes one would ask the other " I feel like Oil-ing today lehz...B got Oil leh..i also want to oil" ...okie..not funny.
yup..my manager sms me last night while i was out for dinner.. she msged:
"did you receive my email about giving you OIL tmw?" (i must have left the office already when she emailed me la.)
i replied " nope. .I got OIL? so what time am I released from work?" ...reason for this is that there're 2 types of OIL- half day oil or full day oil....if it's half day meaning i will have to go to work first then about 1-2pm i'll be released from work....
at this point in time, i was smiling from ear to ear already coz i will have a half day tmw! and just so happen that i've got something on in the afternoon and i originally had cancelled the appointment thinking I cannot make it.
she replied," haha..dun tell me i smsed wrongly. it's FULL day.:)"
........ silence.... shucks. when i read it, my heart sank to the bottom of my broken heart. My mind i was thinking: dam..she has smsed the wrong person about OIL...I'm working full day tmw.
..........i was happy for......nothing!.........
When i started whining and wailing about the mistake, my friend took over my phone and read the sms. He said if my manager meant i'm getting full day oil.firstly, if she had informed me wrongly, she wouldn't have said" haha" she would have said"sorry...i smsed wrongly" .Also, if she had smsed to the wrong person, and still put that smiley face at the end of the sentence, then she's really an evil manager.
........silence.....oh yah!! true huh..! so i smsed her again,
" so it's confirmed I'm getting full day OIL tmw?" ... in anticipation for her reply...
"yes."
"thanks alot"
"welcome :)"
.... i felt so relieved n was exhilerated! yooohooooo...let's have a party....
at the same time, how can my friend miss suan-ing me about my mistake....so 15 mins of sarcasm and digging took place. it's ok for me ..i don't really care..i still got my OIL....(^_^)v
in addition to this good news, i managed to get the hello kitty magnet from 7-11 which i don't have by feeling the package for the shape of the magnet.(you should see how the transverstite cashier's eyes roll when i told him i have this design already and exchange for a new one )..yeah! new addition to my collection!
