sepet!

..shucks! logged in late...dam. was watching a movie "Sepet" and was so engrossed in it that i didn't realise my break time was over...great..graveyard still can log in late.heh.

omoshiroii no eiga desu ne. meaning:interesting movie....Sepet means slit eyed in malay i think, aka referring to the chinese. about a malay gal (Orked) in love with a chinese guy ,a typical ah beng (Jason Lee Seow Loong..super corny). After they overcame the psychological barriers of inter racial relationships and objections from their parents, orked finally decided to call jason to tell him how she felt towards him as she'll be going overseas for a scholarship. Jason had been waiting for her to call him for many days. The movie ended showing 2 shots- jason's mobile on the floor ringing but he's unconscious beside an overturned bike. Then showed a guy picked up orked's call and answered her in a robotic manner (errm..as in his answers to her questions are short n curt, yes i understand. its alright. it's ok. i love you too. ..). and the show ended. owarimasu.

My guess would be that the guy who answered is jason's good friend who didn't want to hurt her or affect her mood as she'll be going overseas soon. So his answers are short n robotic so as not to give himself away...should be la huh. well, my colleague junyi think that jason's friend killed him as he did have a crush on orked before, and wants to get orked for himself. ..which i think is highly impossible.
Another guess I have would be that the guy who picked up the call was actually an illusion or hallucination on the part of orked, as both missed each other so much and to make the story complete, calls the need to end it in an abstract way. However, junyi doesn't quite agree with this and insist that i think to much. can be what...anything is possible as it was open ended..

so how now brown cow...what you all think about inter-racial relationships? i find it difficult to come to a consensus leh...and of course, for my parents as well.lol. think as old as i can get, i will still be thinking about it...
